Based on the successful Canada Festivals in 2009 and 2010, Canadian Education Alliance will again co-host the Canada Festival in Osaka in cooperation with KCBA on October 29th (Saturday) from 13:00 to 17:00.

You are invited for a luncheon and lecture with the President of The Kansai International Airport Mr. Shinichi Fukushima. After the eastern Japan disaster, many changes have occurred in the business environment in the Kansai region and so has international travel. This is mainly due to reorganization of domestic procurement and delivery to and from the overseas locations, changes in import/export regulations, reduced foreign travelers to the Kansai region and the general economic down turn. The good news is that, recently tourists to Japan, mainly from East Asia, have gradually started to come back. Kansai Canada Greentech Forum

OCCI, GCP(sponsored by METI-Kansi) and OBIC(Osaka Business Investment Center) together with the Canadian Consulate has invited two Canadian "Greentech" companies to Osaka with the purpose to introduce the advantages of the business climate of Osaka to these companies.

There will be a forum in the morning, speaking about Japan and Canada's Policy for New Energy, especially after the earthquake. After the seminar, there will be a networking luncheon for a short hour followed by one-to-one business talks for the two canadian companies to meet with Japanese companies in the afternoon.

- An Evening With Mike Wolfe: Education in Canada -

The Canadian Alumni Association in Japan and the Canadian Education Alliance will be co-hosting an evening with Mike Wolfe, headmaster of the prestigious Stanstead College in Quebec, Canada on May 19th at the Crown Plaza Kobe Hotel. Stanstead College is uniquely located on the Canada-U.S. and Quebec-Vermont borders and Mike will share interesting anecdotes about this.

Mike is a very experienced and knowledgeable educator and fund raiser. He recently led the efforts to raise $10 million to build the new “Pat Burns Arena” on the Stanstead College campus. Pat Burns is a legendary NHL coach who hails from the Stanstead area.

Mike will discuss private/boarding school education in Canada, with a comparison of schools in the U.S. and unique approaches to fundraising. He will also discuss trends in education in North America in general.
